↙ Shajarian alongside Ferdowsi and the Brotherhood;
What a place to be Tus, what weight to take the land of Khorasan!
Qassim Khorrami
When we opened our eyes, Shajarian had left Khorasan and had become a legend of Iranian singing, but for us Khorasans, he was still a source of pride and pride, and the echo of his voice added to our value and credibility.
Most people have heard and seen recordings or films and pictures of his performances, which were truly inspiring and enjoyable for everyone. But his daily conversations, with his inherent humor and Khorasani accent, had another sweetness for us.
The peak of our pride was when he sang the famous poem of Professor Emad Khorasani in the song “Love of Old Age” in the same Mashhadi dialect:
Sometimes my work and you take up the valley
Every bit of your love fits in my heart
The first day I told myself I’m like everyone else
Now I see the work of the valley slowly picking up.
I may have listened to this song more than a hundred times, but I still feel that there is a corner in it that needs to be heard and drunk again.
In recent years, when the most unbalanced instruments and the most unbalanced voices were heard from Khorasan, we were very disappointed that the land that has been the nurse of Iranian culture and literature for centuries should now be the center of harshness and ugliness. However, we were glad that Professor Mohammad Reza Shajarian finally came from there and for those who are familiar with the history of this land, will find that his voice and lifestyle is closer to the political and social behavior of Khorasanians.
Now that treasure is gone, returned to the treasure of Tus Khorasan and became a permanent guest and companion of Ferdowsi Pakzad and Mehdi Akhavan Salis. What a sincere and sympathetic gathering to be formed with the presence of these three wise men who spent their lives promoting Iran and raised the “high flower” in the sky. “Those fierce lions who did not live with the night / went and the sleeping city did not know who they were. What other burden and weight will take after this, the land of Tus and the holy land.
It is a pity that the opportunity to meet and hear the voice of Shajarian was taken away from us. After this, our hearts will miss him; For his morality and freedom, for his voice and purity, and even for his mature politics. He was rightly a cry in our silent times and a protest in our silence. It was a tearful voice that seemed to have been stuck in the throats of Iranians for centuries. If he doesn’t read “Scream. Is it scream.” Maybe we would have suffocated. Unfortunately, the voice of Iran was heard!
Now, however, we are happy to host him in the house of the Lord of Speech. This will be an opportunity to sit next to his tomb and talk and whisper his song again with the eternal poem of the Brotherhood:
Woe to me, this fire is still burning
What I have; The memorial and the office and the divan… and what has a view and a porch…
Wow! Do any wake up from sleep; My kind neighbors are looking for help
I burned this raging fire of the foundation; I’m screaming… Oh, screaming…
May their souls rest in peace
