By Salam: 1-30 day old ostrich chick care and breeding manual (Ariacon company, a joint project of Iran and Canada)
The number of chickens is 30 pieces
The space of the room is 30 to 40 square meters
The floor of the bed is preferably cement or square brick and preferably a floor heating system so that the floor temperature does not exceed 20 to 25, because the problem of dehydrating the chicken and high heat causes excessive ammonia gas formation.
40 x 40 fan ventilation should be installed at a height of 20.1 cm
Suitable drinking and eating utensils
The room temperature is 25-30 degrees Celsius
A dirt bed free from any foreign objects, about 50 square meters
When the weather is suitable, water and feed the chickens in the coop
The amount of food preferably 3 times a day
It should be noted that too much food causes mold and rancidity, which causes anorexia and respiratory infection in chickens.
Chickens are very interested in green alfalfa, so two meals of chopped alfalfa leaves should be given along with the garden.
Water-soluble vitamins such as Stimul, Multivitamin, Becomplex, three times a week should be used only in the morning.
Drinking and eating utensils should be cleaned and disinfected daily
Every day, the bedding of the chickens should be cleaned and washed. Washing with water is strictly prohibited, because humidity causes the growth of fungi, etc.
The feed should be given according to the formula, the amount of energy and protein and the ratio of calcium to phosphorus should be balanced
Try to put the white coat inside the chickens as much as possible
Avoid any noise that causes stress to the chicken
The water for the chickens should be water that we can use and it should be free of any contamination
At the age of 21 days, the Newcastle double flu vaccine should be injected in the first phase with a dose of 0.5cc along with the multivitamin vaccine and aspirin and Rota for 24 to 48 hours in water, and any movement and stress should be strictly avoided. The second round of the same vaccine should be repeated one week later with a subcutaneous dose of 1cc, observing the above mentioned conditions.
Important note: Hatchery chicks should be purchased from a farm that respects the health conditions at the hatchery site and also the vaccination of the breeders.
