6 points that every Iranian needs

6 points that every Iranian must teach his child

Dr. Mojtaba Lashkar Baloki

Six points that I found necessary to teach my child and I think every Iranian should teach their child

1. The previous generation told us to study to become someone for yourself. This is wrong. Studying in vain brings neither intelligence nor happiness. It is the experience of life in all its aspects that brings you intelligence and happiness.

When I say life, I mean everything: from cooking to riding a bike, from closing your eyes to listen to a piece of music to soccer. From working at a small charity in your neighborhood to following the speeches of world leaders at the G20 World Summit. Studying in vain brings neither intelligence nor happiness.

2. They don’t teach you these things in school: financial literacy, media literacy, sexual literacy. All three of these are important. Learn each from reputable sources.

Learn math not to solve the most complex equations, but to learn how to use math knowledge in your financial decisions, when you get a loan, when you invest, and when you buy life insurance. Don’t be, your hat is a battle. Reading math is of little use if it does not lead to an increase in financial literacy.

3. History is more important than geography. Now, location finder software, route finder and online maps are available, if you don’t know geography, you will still find your way, but no software can summarize history.

Read the history deeply. So that you don’t make the mistakes we did. A mistake that is repeated twice is no longer a mistake, it is stupidity.

English, Chinese and Arabic are as important as Persian. When you know Farsi language, that means you have 80 million emotional words and business words, in today’s world this number can expand greatly. Expand the circle of both your words and actions to more than 800 million. The world of tomorrow is a world without borders.

5. Learn effective communication skills. 50% of success is effective communication, convincing and accompanying others and influencing them. You must know how to speak well, present well, write reports well and persuade well. Learn to negotiate and present effectively.

6. Degrees are important, but now is the time for skills. At that time, when we were studying, the number of degree holders was small. Therefore, anyone who had a master’s degree or doctorate had an advantage. In your time, degrees will no longer be fashionable, and those who have skills will remain.

In the next ten years, many jobs will be lost and many new jobs will be created. Study a field and acquire a skill that is not useful for the current world but for the future world. If you choose a bad field, it’s like producing the best abacus in the world, in a world where no one uses abacus.
