I forgive!
Rahim Qomishi
The crowd crowded together, everyone wanted to see him closer, but there was no way. The tall and thin man could be seen from afar, but he couldn’t get away from him to see if he can still laugh after 27 years in prison!
His black curly hair was completely white, his forehead creases showed that he had been through a lot, but his beautiful teeth and his rows made his black and elongated face more beautiful.
What did he want to say after 27 years of suffering in medieval prisons?
He was taking deep breaths and his speech did not start, it was clear that he was also surprised by the arrival of that crowd of several hundred thousand people. Maybe from seeing freedom, maybe from not seeing the rusty and iron bars of the cell and its cruel jailers.
The sun had lost its sharpness when he finally spoke.
Calm and firm, no trembling voice and no fear:
– People! Who has been in prison the most?
The black crowd shouted in unison:
– Nelson, Nelson
– People! Who was beaten the most?
– Nelson, Nelson
– People! Who was humiliated more?
– Nelson, Nelson
– People! Who drew more alone and alone?
– Nelson, Nelson
Now the whole square was silent. Even the babies in the swaddle did not cry anymore. The ears were sharp.
What is Nelson trying to say!?
– Who was urinated on many times in prison?
The open crowd answered loudly:
– Nelson, Nelson
– Who was forbidden to even see his family for decades?
– Nelson Nelson.
Nelson looked at the end of the crowd, a crowd that was black, not a single white among them, and all full of excitement, full of energy, full of the need to attack and avenge decades of humiliation!
– People! I forgave
People! I have forgiven everything, so do you.
We want to live, we want to progress, we want to be a role model for our children, we want to build the future. We don’t have time to hold grudges! We want brotherhood, with the same whites who did not consider us human.
We are great, our answer to them is love, our answer is to stand together.
Because we are big.
That day the blacks danced, that day the blacks threw away grudges, that day the blacks recognized a man who was very great.
A man who had new words.
A leader who surprised the world.
A leader who knew greatness.
And he had no middle ground with hatred and contempt, hostility and arrogance.
Nelson Mandela forever remained in history.
Don’t rub your nose on the ground!
No, he clenched his fist pointlessly
No, he got angry
No, he ordered revenge
He gave humanity to black people
He showed humanity to the world
Nelson Mandela lived forever.
He had new words.
Words that no one expected!
How many new words do we have?
** Eid is the birthday of the Prophet of Mercy, the one who said the same thing when he captured Mecca:
I have forgiven everyone.
And we forgot that we are followers of the same prophet!
A man whom others knew better than us.
And we only know his name and not his way!
