Seven ways to create entrepreneurship in organizations
Different approaches to organizational entrepreneurship have different results. For example, the traditional approach of research and development often creates a powerful technology-oriented trend.
In this case, the basis of the technical implementation of the plans is the production of products, at least at the present time there is little market demand for them. In fact, many research and development departments are more skilled in invention than entrepreneurship. This means that these units often produce products that are challenging for companies from a commercial point of view.

You have heard this method a lot; Many companies, instead of buying other companies, buy part of the intellectual capital and members of similar organizations. In fact, companies are turning to outsourcing innovation. Sometimes, due to the terrible costs related to the infrastructure and people needed to produce these capabilities inside the company, this method is more economical for companies. For some other companies, only the issue of time and speed of achieving innovation is important. Rapid technological changes, parallel and complementary advances in technology in different fields and the impossibility of significant and simultaneous progress in multiple projects make companies rely on people outside the organization to succeed in this field. In this case, the companies either acquire the ownership of the invention, or by maintaining its ownership, they develop the mentioned ideas through others and by paying the relevant costs.
A combination of the above methods
The fact is that today, companies believe in the expansion of entrepreneurial performance. Even each of the six approaches that you heard are implemented in different ways in companies. An example of a hybrid approach is a company that starts a new business unit not only at an organizational level but in each of the company’s main units. It is even possible that the members of the organization, as entrepreneurial pioneers who are responsible for the completion of various projects, can outsource a part of the product development process.
The amount and speed of innovation in each of these approaches is different. Daring achievements are generally achieved in new business groups or traditional research and development units, while ordinary employees of the organization seek innovation in current products and services, and temporary and outsourcing teams are in the middle of this spectrum.
Examining the performance of many research and development units and new business groups shows that these units are not very successful in completing and launching projects on time. On the contrary, the use of temporary teams, outsourcing and outstanding employees in the field of entrepreneurship usually leads to the realization of the desired results faster.
In short, don’t forget; Top managers have a set of realistic goals and different performance expectations in choosing any of the approaches that you have heard. Meanwhile, all of these approaches cannot be implemented in a company due to different roles and performance standards.
