#baby incubator
What does incubator mean?
Keep warm/over the egg
Sleeping = Incubate
A device that maintains/keeps heat = Incubator
What is this device used for?
A baby incubator is mainly used to maintain a constant temperature of 37 degrees Celsius inside the baby’s body. Also, most incubators humidify the air and can add some oxygen to it.
Incubators are used in nurseries-ambulances, emergency transfers and NICU emergency transfer planes and delivery rooms, it is classified as high risk equipment and requires special care and maintenance.
Usually, parameters such as easy access to the baby – short heating time of the device – stable temperature of the device – absence of temperature differences in different parts of the incubator – being equipped with a phototherapy system – being equipped with a variety of oxygen-temperature sensors – the ability to tilt the mattress – discharge and Water ingress – the type of display and the number of alarms and their activation threshold, the type of thermostat, the power of the heater – the oxygen input controller, the circulation system and isolation from sound – size and weight and compliance with standards, including the parameters desired by a medical equipment expert and also A device user is an incubator in device selection.
Amounts of a type of baby incubator
Air temperature: 32 to 38 degrees Celsius
Baby’s skin temperature: 34 to 36 degrees Celsius
Final gas volume: 35 liters per minute
Relative humidity: 50 to 100% (50-100%)
Baby incubator components
Depending on the type of device, a device may not have some of the following components or may have other additional components.
Sample storage chamber: It is a closed environment that should be separated from the outside as far as possible in terms of temperature and the entry and exit of gases in a controlled manner.
Temperature control system: This system keeps the temperature inside the incubator at the level required by the samples. For this purpose, a series of sensors are used to sample the temperature inside the chamber.
Also, a number of elements will be responsible for providing the required heat. Temperature control is also done through the use of conventional thermocouples or systems based on microcontrollers and PLC.
Humidity control system: This system keeps the humidity inside the incubator at the level required by the samples. For this purpose, a series of sensors are used to sample the humidity inside the chamber.
Also, the water tank and incubator heating system will provide the required humidity.
Gases control system: This system keeps the composition of gases inside the incubator at the level required by the samples. For this purpose, a series of sensors are used to sample the gas composition inside the chamber.
Also, the supply of required gases will be the responsibility of external tanks. Controlling the composition of gases is also done through the use of systems based on micro-controllers and PLC.
Alarm system: According to the values determined for each of the factors, if any of them exceeds the allowed values, it will report this event with appropriate alarms.
Stability system: This system allows the device operator to record the desired characteristic continuously and control its changes.
