Some time ago, a project known as “supporting the rights of users and basic services of virtual space” was proposed for review in the Islamic Council, which according to most experts and experts, including the organization of the computer trade union system, violates many users’ rights and many services. will limit in cyber space. A plan whose implementation, due to the impossibility of communicating with managers of foreign communication and social networks due to sanctions, will lead to filtering or causing serious disruption in the bandwidth of many international application platforms, including Instagram and WhatsApp. These new problems, along with the previous filtering of universal platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Telegram, and the low speed of the international Internet, will cause more pain to the people, and in these difficult economic conditions, will deprive people of the benefits of these new technologies.
Previous restrictive experiences and wrong policies, including the unsuccessful filtering of Telegram and Clubhouse, and the failure of previous projects with exorbitant costs such as national messengers, national search engine, national operating system, etc., have repeatedly shown how correct the predictions and recommendations of sympathetic experts were.
We, the signatories of this campaign, declare our opposition to the harmful and unprofessional plan “to support the rights of users and basic practical services of virtual space” and we request you to respect the rights of the people of Iran and help their livelihood, more than these new obstacles for small businesses.
