Now we go to the seventh person on the list of the Islamic Council of Shahrood city. Mehdi Torabi is the head of the construction workers’ union. A powerful union that consulted with various candidates in the recent elections and finally announced its support for one of them by summarizing its board of directors. In the elections of the 11th term of the Islamic Council, Mehdi Torabi and his union announced their support for Ali Asghar Khani and according to the claims, they cast the votes of more than 6 thousand members and their families in his basket.
In the elections of the sixth term of the Islamic City Council in Shahrood, the construction workers’ union decided to enter the election arena with a candidate, this decision can be examined from two perspectives. At first glance, the entry of this organization into the field of elections can be seen as the result of the growth of the most oppressed classes of the society, and by taking this as a good omen, it celebrated one of the main slogans of the Islamic Revolution in the field of entrusting the power of affairs to the oppressed. From this point of view, the construction workers no longer need to elect a boss to be their representative and make them the adornment of the councils and the blackness of the army to the power of those with money, power and politics. But from another point of view, Mehdi Torabi’s participation in the elections is the result of orders issued by the city representative to use the unified votes of construction workers so that he can capture the majority of seats in the city council.
Mehdi Torabi’s name not being included in Mohsen Ahmadi’s list, despite its inclusion until the last day, and the verbal conflict between Ahmadi and Torabi on the day the list was issued, strengthens the option of Mehdi Torabi’s independence; However, the presence of Ali Asghar Khani and Hamid Reza Qanbarian at Mehdi Torabi’s house only one day after winning the elections and his subsequent meeting with Mohsen Ahmadi makes the suspicion that Torabi is in harmony with Khani stronger.
The sixth person in the elected list is Seyyed Ahmad Mirzaei, he also got almost 5,500 votes. Mirzaei has the originality of Sarkavir and his ethnic vote is very good. In the fifth term of the council, Seyyed Mustafa Tabatabai had the same conditions as him and he also performed very well in the city council. Although Seyyed Mustafa Tabatabai became a victim of political lobbies to enthrone a certain person on the post of mayor, but Seyyed Ahmad Mirzaei’s presence can be encouraging for the marginal people of Shahrood, especially the Shahrak Beheshti area.
Seyyed Javad Bitraf and Seyyed Zahra Mousavi are the 3rd and 5th candidates respectively to the 6th Shahroud Council. This is the third time that these two have received a vote of confidence from the people of Shahrood to sit in the city parliament. The failure of the lists in this period of elections cannot be attributed to the underdevelopment of the Shahrood community; Rather, the main problem in this failure is the way the names are placed next to each other. Above all, a coalition list should be made up of people of equal weight and like-mindedness, each of whom, despite having different capacities, has the ability to bring it to the field for synergy. Unfortunately, this issue was not included in the electoral lists of this period and this issue was the main reason for the failure of the coalitions.
