Hello friends;
Happy New Year to you all
I want to tell here my personal experience about the work related to the field of study, because I think it will be useful for you too.
I am studying for a master’s degree at Hochschule Bochum. Considering that I am in the last semester, I was looking for a related job. I also had work experience in Iran.
That’s why I spent a few hours and completed my resume. But there was a lot of work to do. Hochschule offered an online course of a few hours and there Dr. Andreas Stützer introduced us to the ins and outs of writing a resume in Germany in a few hours. I had acquired a lot of information from Persian language websites, but the information of Dr. Due to his expertise and experience, Stützer helped me a lot and brought my resume closer to the standards of the German labor market. After completing my resume, I sent it to about 15 companies related to my field. Out of 15 companies, only one company invited me for a vorstellungsgespräch and that email sent me a few days after the interview that they selected another person. After about a month of receiving Absage emails, I was really fed up. I had doubted my abilities and my self-confidence had somehow decreased.
Until one of my relatives (who was born and studied here and is a high-level consultant in a large company) because he knew me and knew about my abilities and past experiences, suggested that I work on my resume with him again. Lebenslauf didn’t change much, it was slightly edited and better organized. But it was in the writing of Anschreiben that my resume failed. During 3 days and about 5 hours of conversation with him every day, my entire working and academic life in the past was purposefully entered into Anschreiben. A logical text, based on my abilities and experiences.
I restarted the bewerben process. During a period of 1 month (from the beginning of January 2022 to the beginning of February). I sent to about 20 companies, 17 companies invited me to vorstellungsgespäch. The first two companies refused to answer after the interview. I talked to the same acquaintance again for three hours and he prepared me for an interview. He told me what questions German companies ask and how you should answer them. He told me how I should answer about my lack of command of the German language and how I should answer if I didn’t know something. With his help, I wrote a few pages of text and almost memorized it so that I could answer any question fluently.
The fourth company that invited me for an interview gave me zusage and I have been working since March 1st. The interesting thing is that the company I work for is a große Unternehmen and I never imagined that I would work in such a company one day.
I told you that if you think you are really capable of doing something and you have gained experience in the past and you have applied a lot and have not received an answer, then apply. Maybe it’s better to pay and recheck your resume with an Bewerbungscoach (I didn’t pay, because someone from my relatives helped me, but when I looked on the Internet, it costs about 125-250 euros per hour, but I think it’s worth it) but since our mother tongue is not German, sometimes we can’t convey the meaning well and as a result Anschreiben doesn’t work well. That’s why if you can find an Iranian-speaking Bewerbungscoach like me who grew up here, it can definitely help you and you will see the results very soon.
with respect
