Dear friends, please note that every grounding and confusion are not signs of Newcastle in the ostrich.
An ostrich suffering from Newcastle disease does not take a nap, does not twist its neck, does not become lethargic.
Among its identifying signs, I say Chenta;
On the first and second day of fighting, the chick hardly gets up and sometimes needs help, but it has very little balance while walking, on the other hand, when it gets up, it sits down very late, but when it is fully involved in the story, it can do it even with help. He does not stand and sits down and tries to get up, but his legs from the knee down do not show any reaction and their skin is wrinkled, at the same time, the chicken is completely happy and even poops. We treated him for a month without any problems, but unfortunately we did not get an answer, but during this time, despite the consumption of water and heat, the chicken’s body completely deteriorated and we had to euthanize him.
There is no definitive cure for this disease, but be sure that if you see the first case, the whole herd will be infected within a few days, so it is better to start vaccination with both live and killed vaccines before the rest of the population is infected.
But the best thing is to prevent the onset and spread of the disease
Disinfection, pans, drinking water, food storage and so on
Preventing the traffic of busy people
Preventing the movement of wild birds to the warehouse and the surrounding areas of water and fertilizer containers
Strengthening the immune system of birds
And
It’s a shame that it took so long. But it’s the beginning of the hot season and the beginning of some problems that sometimes lead to the bird getting stuck on the ground, and newbie friends soon think of the Newcastle conflict and go the wrong way.
Thank you for your patience
