Ethion insecticide

Ethion insecticide

Brand name: Etiol

Formulation: EC 47%

Product introduction:

– This insecticide belongs to the group of organic phosphorus poisons with contact, digestive and non-systemic properties and with definite effect on pests. Ethion is used against aphids and aphids of cold and citrus fruit trees. Also, if this insecticide is used together with oil, it is able to destroy the eggs of insects, mites and bedbugs. It is metabolized in the body of animals through the oxidation reaction to phosphorothioate compounds, followed by de-alkalization and hydrolysis. Its half-life in soil is 90 days.

Mechanism of action:
– Ethion is an insecticide and acaricide from the group of organophosphorus poisons with non-systemic properties and a contact and partially digestive effect that acts by inhibiting the cholinesterase enzyme in the nervous system of animals. Acetylcholine acts as a transmitter of nerve messages in the intersynaptic space and stimulates the next axon. Ethion in the body of the insect causes accumulation in the synapse and as a result the stimulation of the next nerve fiber continues continuously. Because the cholinesterase enzyme necessary to break down acetylcholine in the intersynaptic space and eliminate this continuous stimulation is blocked by ethionine.
