Representatives and some food models in the parliament!
Mustafa Danandeh
The conditions of the country are not normal. According to officials, we are in a state of economic war. America is bent on sanctioning Iran and is trying to make Iran submit to its demands. In this situation, one should eat less, wear less, consume less and be economical in many matters of life. Saadi has mentioned in Golestan:
“You don’t mind, spend more slowly
They say sailors are songs
If it doesn’t rain in the mountains
The Tigris will dry up in a year.
The question that arises in the meantime is whether this saving is only for the people or not the officials also have a share of it? Definitely, except for the people in charge, they should change their lifestyle from normal to war.
Let me give you an example. When MPs enter the dining hall of the parliament, they face several models of food. From kebabs to stews and of course soups, salads, etc. Of course, I don’t want to reduce the level of issues like Mr. Dr. Shibani, who was only sensitive about the type of expenses in the parliament during the entire time of representation, and whether the floor is carpeted and whether they eat fruit or not, but symbols and profiles cannot be ignored.
Seyed Mehdi Sadr al-Sadati, a cleric who was detained for some time due to the incident of Deh Vanak and Al-Zahra University, and who is said to have been released, wrote about the eating of the Majlis: “Yesterday, I was invited to the Islamic Council for lunch, and I had not yet performed the evening prayer when I entered the hall. I went to the restaurant and the tables were almost full and I still can’t believe that the Majlis self-service lunch with several types of kebabs, khorsht [stew], chicken, eggplant curd (which apparently I arrived late and was almost finished), several types of salad, dalster, buttermilk And let it be fruit!”
The representatives are well received in the meetings of the parliamentary committee. When they are in the courtyard, they are treated with milk and cake.
Well, isn’t it time for the honorable parliamentarians, who are well aware of the country’s conditions and its critical situation, to save money? Can’t a model eat or bring food from home? Can’t they just drink tea in commission meetings? Can’t they stop the construction of the parliament?
It is possible, as many people have changed their lifestyle and, for example, have reduced the consumption of meat and chicken in their lives. They don’t eat nuts anymore or they don’t go to fruits and dairy products.
Apart from the fact that saving just a few pens adds up to a significant amount and this budget can be spent on other things, it has better effects from a symbolic point of view and from an external point of view. What’s more, these representatives themselves are careful in spending when they are in their personal offices and after work and if the income is completely healthy and they don’t spend freely.
If I were in the place of the officials, when I would stand behind the microphone and tell people, save money; First, I was saying that we eliminated lunch in the parliament. We no longer eat fruits and sweets in the commission meetings. We tried to spend the budgets of the Parliament on other affairs of the country.
With these decisions, people will definitely go along and try to consume less, wear less and buy less. As the famous saying goes, people don’t give in to the words of a person who has eaten a bath that forbids a bath. It is not a matter of austerity and we hope it will not go there. But something should be considered. Let them remember that this property is in trust with them, and when one cannot spend excessively on their property, the obligation is clearer in trust.
I hope that the conditions of the country will be such that all offices can provide several types of food and people will live in complete prosperity.
