Wage Circular 97 was announced for implementation today (Sunday) with the signature of Ali Rabiei, Minister of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare. 

In the 6-point circular of the Minister of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare, it is stated;

1- From the beginning of 2017, the minimum daily wage at the same rate for all workers subject to the labor law (either permanent or temporary contract) is set at the amount of 370,423 Rials (370,423 Rials). Also, from the beginning of 2017, other wage levels will also increase by 10.4% of the fixed wage or basic wage (the subject of Article 36 of the Labor Law) in addition to 28,208 rials per day compared to the last wage in 2016.

Note: With the increase of this clause, the wages of the workers included in the job classification plans approved by the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, as well as the fixed wages of other workers, should not be less than the amount of 370,423 Rials (370,423 Rials) of the first paragraph.

2- To the workers who have one year of work experience in 2017 or one year has passed since they received their last pension, the daily amount of 17,000 rials will be paid as pension.

Note 1: The payment of the amount related to the seniority of the workers included in the job classification plans approved by the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, taking into account the above-mentioned figure for group one, according to the instructions and table announced by the General Department of Labor Relations and Compensation.

Note 2: Seasonal workers will be paid the amount stipulated in this clause or its note 1 as the case may be.

Note 3: Based on the resolution dated 1/22/1397 of the Supreme Labor Council and in order to strengthen the core skills and benefits of all workers and as a result of the satisfaction of the workers with experience, from the beginning of 1397 all workers with permanent and temporary contracts subject to the labor law who have a years of work experience or one year has passed since receiving their last grade (sanwat) in the same workshop, regardless of whether they have settled their seniority rights or benefits at the end of their work or not, they will be eligible to receive the grade (sanwat).

3- Based on the resolution dated 7/21/2017 of the Supreme Labor Council and in order to increase the satisfaction of workers and employers and in order to stabilize and extend it to all workers, both permanent and temporary, it was established from the beginning of 2017 that allowances for household consumables were provided as benefits. Welfare and motivation subject to Note 3, Article 36 of the Labor Law, for each worker (whether married or single), the amount of 1,100,000 Rials should be paid to them by their employers.

4- The criteria related to how to apply the increase stipulated in paragraph 1 and note 1 of paragraph 2 in workshops that have a job classification plan, as well as in the case of wage workers, as well as how to upgrade the job class, will be according to the instructions of the General Department of Labor Relations and Service Compensation.

5- The provisions of this resolution will not include students who are temporarily employed in workshops during the summer holidays in 2017.

6- The units subject to the labor law in order to create the relationship between wages and benefits, productivity and production and create more motivation among their employees, in addition to implementing this resolution, they can increase and establish wages and benefits in the form of workshop agreements and collective agreements and so on.
