A very beautiful and readable story
Once upon a time, a young lion ruled the forest
And an old fox was his minister and adviser, who had an infinite reputation for cunning.
The animals of the forest killed the father of the young ruler who ruled over them, and due to the promise of returning water to the river and ponds of the forest, they made his son the ruler, and the young lion opened the dam behind the palace.
And the water came to the river and all the ponds, and the happy animals worked together and enjoyed life during the first months of the reign of the young lion.
One day the lion said to the fox:
Minister, these animals did not pay taxes during my father’s time and they always received free food from the provisions of my father’s palace for the winter, and you saw what they did to him and killed him.
The water in Qasr Dam is running out, and if there is a drought, what will we do ourselves, and again the animals will conspire against us and kill me.
The old fox turned to the lion and said:
My young Sultan, I know these animals very well, if you rule in the way I say, you will be the ruler of the forest for the rest of your life, because these animals will conspire against the ruler if they are in comfort. The lion said, “So what is your method, old fox?”
The fox sent the hunters to the middle of the forest and told them to hunt and say that from now on you have to pay one coin to the palace fund every month to help the development of the forest. A few months passed and they paid taxes for the development of all the animals, when they saw that nothing was done. It was not done for the forest by the palace, two of the animals protested and complained
The fox ordered the agents to arrest them and because they accused the young ruler lion of not doing enough, they cut off their heads in front of the other animals. The lion said to the fox, what are you doing? The animals got angry and attacked the palace.
The fox said, my young Sultan, I know these animals well, don’t worry, the sentence was executed, and fear arose among the animals.
After some time, the fox ordered that from now on they should pay one coin to the palace as a tax every week, the animals protested, but for fear of nothing
They did not complain and paid the tax
The fox ordered the animals to pay a tax of three coins a week, three of the poor animals complained that the lion is being oppressed, the fox immediately ordered to imprison the protestors for insulting the ruler of the forest, the other animals remained silent. they did
The fox declared a tax of seven coins a week, and any animal that protested was imprisoned or executed for insulting the king of the forest.
The animals worked hard and everything they earned was spent on their stomachs and was not taxed, and everyone was in sorrow and did not protest or complain because of the fear of the Sultan and not being executed.
They were only cursing themselves in their hearts
Why did they conspire and kill the lion father?
The fox said to the lion when he was dying, if you want to always be the ruler, keep the animals in trouble and always scare them that if their stomachs are full, they will kill you.
