CEO of the Central Livestock Union

CEO of Central Light Livestock Union:

139,000 tomans worth of livestock is the result of lack of support for the livestock industry

The CEO of the Central Livestock Union of the country considered the price of live livestock to reach 139,000 Tomans per kilogram as a result of carelessness and lack of support from the Ministry of Jihad and Agriculture for the livestock industry and said: the government should act in such a way that both the producer is stable and the consumer is satisfied. It is not right to satisfy the consumer by suppressing the producer or to give the producer the right of the consumer.

According to the report of Iran’s agricultural information base (Agna), according to ISNA, Afshin Sadr Dadres stated that the prices of domestic production inputs are very high, saying: Barley costs around 12 to 13 thousand tomans, hay costs 8,000 tomans, and straw costs 5,000 tomans. The hand of the herdsman arrives. There is very little corn in the market.

He continued: Despite the increase in the price of all production components, the price of live livestock has not only not increased reasonably, but has also started a downward trend since March of last year.

The CEO of the country’s Light Livestock Union added: According to the calculations and declaration of the animal husbandry unions to the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture, the price of each kilo of live male lambs costs 139,000 Tomans for livestock farmers, but the price of live male lambs in the market is between 65,000 and 70,000 Tomans.

Pointing out that a large part of livestock farmers have gone bankrupt due to this price difference and the rest are also enduring difficult conditions, he said: Currently, there is no guarantee and support purchase and livestock farmers sell their livestock at the market price. In this market, since livestock is not bought at full price, they have to sell their livestock at lower prices.

According to him, although the supply of livestock is below the real price, export is also prohibited, but red meat still reaches people at high prices. This indicates that the price of meat does not depend on live livestock in the current situation.

Sadr Dadres clarified: Last winter, the Livestock Support Company used to buy live livestock from livestock farmers at a price of 62,000 tomans. Part of this money that had to be paid was done in cash and part was done with the delivery of inputs. Still, some livestock farmers have not been able to receive their demands for inputs from this company for the previous year, on the other hand, due to the delay of several months in the timely reimbursement of sales cash. livestock, this company has lost its credibility with livestock farmers.

He said that due to the bankruptcy of livestock industry activists, livestock killing has increased and ranchers want to reject their livestock and leave this profession.

Chief Justice added: The producer is obliged to produce, and the government must act in a way that both the producer is sustainable and the consumer is satisfied. The government has many tools to establish this balance. It is not right to satisfy the consumer by suppressing the producer or to give the producer the right of the consumer.

In the end, the CEO of the Light Livestock Union of the country said that the price of light livestock today has reached 139,000 tomans per kilo, it is the result of the lack of proper and careless support of the Ministry of Jihad in the last three years for the animal husbandry industry.
