Construction machinery was seen near Rageh Valley;
Raghe Rafsanjan valley is in danger of destruction
Fardai Kerman – community group:
Rafsanjan valley is in danger. In recent days, those who have visited this place have witnessed the construction activities for the construction of the Persian Gulf water pipeline near the valley.
Hassan Hosseini, the head of the Rafsanjan Cultural Heritage Department, confirmed this in an interview with Fardai Kerman and said that on Friday, after learning about this incident, he went to the area and saw that the construction machinery had approached the valley about 400 meters in diameter.
According to him, the work has been stopped for the time being and the project manager has also said that they have no decision to continue the work until the assignment of the issue is determined.
He stated: “The matter has been informed to the General Department of Cultural Heritage of the province and they are following up through the regional water.”
He said: “According to the report of the colleagues of the protection unit, the equipment and machines have moved away from the valley today, Saturday.”
Hosseini stated that based on the evidence in the region, it seems that the route of the project has been defined perpendicular to the Rageh valley, and added: “This is despite the fact that from the edge of the valley to a radius of 500 meters, this work is a natural heritage and in this area of land He should not find any scratch.”
He emphasized: “The project must change course”.
According to him, there is no need to worry and as a result of the consultations, the course of the project will most likely change.
Mojtaba Shafiei – deputy of cultural heritage of Kerman province also told Farday Kerman that they have sent a team of archaeologists to go to the region and examine the issue closely. He added: “They can make a definitive statement about this when the report of the experts is presented.”
According to him, this report will be presented in the next few days.
Rafsanjan Valley is one of the amazing natural phenomena in Kerman province, which is 180 meters wide, 70 meters deep, 20 kilometers long and 36 thousand hectares in area.
It is said that this valley was created due to soil erosion by the water of the permanent river of Giudari. Some experts believe that Rageh Valley is unique in the country in terms of dimensions, length and depth.
According to Fardai Kerman reporter, this valuable work is now threatened by the water transmission line project.
The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage is following up to determine the assignment of the issue.
According to Hosseini – the cultural heritage officer of Rafsanjan, the national registration of this valley is also in the final stages. Its file has been completed and checked once for registration, but it has not been registered due to the existence of defects. These defects have been fixed and the valley will soon be nationally registered. He added: “We can say that Rageh Valley is part of the country’s natural heritage.”
