Terrible facts about the supply of ostrich meat in Yazd

The arrival of sick ostriches and the supply of forbidden meat in Yazd!

The CEO of the Yazd Ostrich Breeders Agricultural Cooperative Company has raised issues regarding the supply of ostrich meat, and if these issues are true, veterinary medicine and agricultural jihad should be held accountable to the people of Yazd.

Hamidreza Shiri, CEO of Yazd Ostrich Breeders Agricultural Cooperative in a conversation with Yazdersa:
Most of the ostriches that enter Yazd from the neighboring provinces are sick and even dead, and the same meat is distributed in the stores of Yazd city and reaches the people for consumption, despite the information of the officials of the General Department of Veterinary Medicine.

The permits that are given to import ostriches to Yazd are only a piece of paper, and in practice none of the officials of the General Veterinary Department of the province have any supervision over these shipments and do not perform any examination on them.

Unfortunately, in neighboring provinces, restaurants give frying oil to ostriches as food, which makes the growth of these animals faster, but the taste of their meat is extremely bad.

The Agricultural Jihad Organization throws stones in the way of licensing.

About 60% of the ostrich breeders in the province have left this job since last year, which is due to the lack of support from Jihad Agriculture officials in the allocation of inputs and also the lack of supervision of the General Veterinary Department in preventing the entry of ostriches from neighboring provinces.

Ostrich breeders in the province are orphans and no person or organization supports them.

With the efforts made in the past years, almost ostrich meat entered the food basket of the people, but due to the lack of supervision and negligence of the authorities, this issue is being removed because people used non-standard meat that did not convey the real taste of ostrich meat. .
