Hello friends. I started my doctorate in 1991 (Physics Department, Boali Sina University, Hamedan). During my PhD, I spent a year studying in South Korea. I wrote a grant proposal during the opportunity period and then returned to Iran. A few months after my return, my professor in Korea informed me that he had received the grant and invited me for a post doc. I defended my thesis in June 1995 and returned to Korea. I spent a year as a post doc there. After completing the postdoc course, I returned to Iran. At the same time, my wife was looking for a joint doctoral course for a part of her doctoral work, and I was waiting to see what would happen to her work, and I was unemployed for several months. After my wife’s work for France was OK, I started looking for job opportunities in France and its surrounding countries. First, I found the names of the professors related to my work in Google Scholar and emailed them directly, but they all said that they don’t have funds, or they said that you should check my site on a certain date, you might find a position, and many of them didn’t answer at all! Overall, it was a promising process and little by little I realized that this is not the right way and it is better to look for positions and apply directly for the positions (open position, job offer, career). I used to search on the internet for several hours every day, and because my search area was limited to a few countries, my job became more difficult until finally, after two months of searching, I was invited to an interview for three different positions. I went to one in person and the other two by Skype. For the interview, you must master the thesis and also your articles. You should also read about the position. For example, if you don’t know a part of the job, read about it before the interview. I had about 10 ISI articles at the time of my interview (I was the first author). I have been a Spanish Postdoc for a year now. At first, my contract was for one year, but here I applied for a grant (4 years) and my contract has been extended until 2023. These things that I wrote were all achieved with great difficulty, stress, not sleeping at night. Doctoral course is very important in my opinion and you have to work hard. Resume is very important. Put even internal conferences in your resume. If you were the first student, you got an award and you must give it.
Thanks to our dear friend for sharing information
