In praise of home and staying at home

In praise of home and staying at home:

Abdo Wazen: You said you haven’t come out of the house for three days?

Mahmoud Darvish: Sometimes I stay longer.

Abdo Wazen: What does home mean to you? Don’t you feel tired and lonely?

Mahmoud Darvish: For me, home means hanging out with myself, with books, music and white paper. Home is like listening to the inner voice and trying to make the best use of time. At the age of sixty, one thinks that one does not have much time left. I admit that I have wasted a lot of time in useless activities, in travel, relationships and such. Even now, I greedily try to spend my time on something important, reading and writing.

Many people complain about loneliness, but I have become addicted to it, nurtured it, and made a close friendship with it.
Seclusion is one of the great tests of man to have the power of self-restraint. The ability to overcome boredom and fatigue is a sign of very high spiritual strength. I feel that if I lose solitude, I lose myself. I am interested in staying in this solitude. But this does not mean cutting off from life, reality and people
