This beautiful historical video and the role of the scientific elite of my land prompted me to republish this article that I had published a long time ago:
I rejected Hoyda’s offer to be the president of the university to restore Alborz High School. February 1979 Mr. Engineer Bazargan became the prime minister. There was a revolution. The king left the country. The school was crowded. I also got sick – that is, as a result of adversity – because I consider order to be the basis of life. I consider order to be the most important thing for me, and I try very hard to always be orderly in my life.
My spiritual children are graduates of Alborzand High School, whom I am proud of. I am not proud to be a technical faculty professor. I am not proud that, excuse me, I passed the best dissertations in the biggest universities in the world, which is the Sorbonne. I am not proud that my educational background is good. Let me say that I am not proud to have founded Ariyamehr University. I am not proud that I was the president of Shiraz University. I am not proud that he stayed at National University, but I am proud that I was the head of Alborz High School for thirty-five years.
These blooming flowers, these outstanding young people, who came from Alborz High School, are the biggest reward for me. I do not ask for anything more than this reward.
I am proud that I was in charge of Alborz High School from 1323 to 1357 and I delivered more than 40, 50 thousand outstanding young people to universities. Most of them are doctors, engineers and professors of the world’s top universities.
My only regret is that my country, the people of my country, were not able to use this worthy and first class Iranian asset, either during the time of the Shah – especially during the time of the Shah in terms of the greed and envy that existed – or during the revolution.
I did not direct them, in order to serve foreigners, Mr. Dr. Zarghami, Mr. Dr. Firoz Pertovi, Mr. Engineer Kivan Tawfiq, or the like six years ago (1361) invited me to a party in Los Angeles, there were fifty-eight people – all of them Doctors and paramedics were prominent.
I did not direct them to have an office in Los Angeles. I directed them to have an office in my homeland.
Sorry, my emotions are aroused. Do you see my eyes, how are they? My heart burns. The wealth of our country means these young people are the wealth of our country, I am not and they are not like me. The wealth of our country is these young people. They could not digest these young people in our country. They were forced. They are not to blame. They were forced to gather their wealth to come and help a foreign country, to serve – and with what hardships.
I don’t know if you came to Alborz High School or not? My room was in such a way that its window was facing the high school entrance. When they rang the bell for leave, I was standing at the window, wondering if this crowd was leaving.
Memoirs of Dr. Mojtahdi (principal of Alborz High School and founder of Sharif Industrial University).
