The meeting and discussion of the respected officials of the Radio Communication Center, the Red Crescent Society Rescue Organization with the then vice president of the Parsian Radio Amateur Association.
In this conversation, first Mr. Dr. Derakhshani, the respected head of radio communication department of the Red Crescent Society Rescue Organization, explained the duties and records of rescue operations and the equipment and facilities available in this center, then I explained the duties of radio amateurs in times of crisis and accidents. Unexpectedly, I recounted to the audience the records of assistance provided by a number of Iranian and German radio amateurs in the terrible earthquake 30 years ago in the cities of Rudbar and Manjil (June 1369- 30 years ago).
It should be noted that 30 years ago, a terrible earthquake occurred in the cities of Rudbar and Manjil and the surrounding areas. One day after the earthquake, a number of Iranian radio amateurs, including Mr. Hassan Zahourian, Jamshid Mansouri and Banda, established radio communication with European radio amateurs. , and finally, the German Red Cross sent 2 cargoes of German aid to Iran with 2 airplanes, and this action was a great honor for us.
According to paragraph 2 of article 2 of the statutes of Iranian radio amateur associations, radio amateurs are obliged to provide specialized assistance (radio communications) to the troops and rescuers in times of crisis and emergency (flood, earthquake, etc.), because when an earthquake or flood occurs, in less than a minute And suddenly all the facilities, equipment and infrastructure of a city are destroyed and razed to the ground, including electricity, telephone and telecommunication lines. is interrupted, in these cases radio amateurs with their own small transmitter and receiver devices can establish radio communication from the center of the accident with cities and even surrounding countries and the world and provide vital assistance to the forces and rescuers.
This legal article, which is an important part of the description of the international and social duties of Iranian radio amateurs (especially amateur radio associations), was the main focus of the discussion of the parties of this meeting.
In this intimate meeting, it was decided that a working group consisting of all the radio amateurs of the country, the radio amateurs of each province will be connected with the rescue unit of the Red Crescent of their province, and frequencies in different radio bands, including in the 144 to 146 MHz band in VHF (with supervision and permission from Radio Communication and Regulation Organization) should be considered for times of crisis and thus the radio amateurs will join the country’s crisis chain.
