The decision of the minister of education
(Why are we undecided?)
Even though there are only two days left until the beginning of the new academic year, the Minister of Education has announced yesterday, Wednesday (12 September) in a sudden decision that in the new academic year, “attendance of students in schools” is necessary.
Of course, the honorable minister has mentioned the need to pay attention to health protocols, but he did not say that three days after his interview, how many students should go to school and how many should not go? Also, they did not say that when the population of millions of students need a vehicle to get around, how will the details of compliance with health issues be?
The main question about yesterday’s interview of the Minister of Education is why a big ministry, in the face of a big event like #Corona, has acted so unsuccessfully and indecisively (and with delay) and the “person of the minister” three days before the reopening of schools. Has it dealt with “generalization”?
“Saturday” the schools will start their work and the minister has given an interview “on Wednesday”. The issue of Corona is the issue of human lives, and is it possible to deal with such an important issue “only three days before the reopening” of schools with a “general” interview?
A lot of details are involved in this issue and “specific regulations” with clear details should have been prepared and prepared “a few weeks ago”.
What kind of minister is this, who three days before the end of the holiday is “generalizing” on an issue like #Corona?
It is strange that the commander of the headquarters for dealing with Corona in Tehran expressed his concern about this issue in an interview and said:
“One of the reasons that doubles the concern of reopening schools is the increase in the use of #public_transportation. It is difficult to control the disease in Tehran, the population of 960,000 people in the four municipalities, which is equivalent to one and a half times the population of #Ilam province, as only one of the regions of Tehran province, is an example of this difficulty.
Dr. Mino Mahrez, a member of the Scientific Committee of the Headquarters for Dealing with Corona, also said:
“Schools can become the best places for the transmission of Corona. Teachers and students must wear masks and observe physical distancing.
There are two days left before the reopening of some schools, but it is not clear how physical distancing is supposed to be observed? In #Tehran, how many students go to school and how many don’t?
Such a minister interviewing against such an important decision (without the details being clear) should be dealt with in the most severe manner possible.
Are human lives so worthless to deal with such an important issue “without communicating clear regulations” and with a general interview (or general instructions)?

Footnote: Minister’s interview:
The priority of education is the attendance of students in schools (link).
Violation of this interview a day later: Our opinion is that due to the current academic year, more than 80% of school classes will be held virtually (link).
The strange thing in this middle is the “Interview of the Chairman of the Education and Research Commission of the Parliament” who said: “Next week” (!?) in a meeting with the presence of the Minister of Education and his deputies, the process of reopening schools will be reviewed in this commission! (link)
Next Week? Good morning Mr. Mustatab. Isn’t next week a bit early?
** Tonight’s interview of Channel 1 news anchor (Mr. Heydari) with the Deputy Minister of Education and Training was frank. He asked: Now is Thursday night and tomorrow is Friday(!). How should families know if their child should attend school on Saturday or not?
Finally, the summary of Mr. Heydari’s news in Channel 1 news at 9 o’clock was that the “Method of reopening schools” will be announced tomorrow (Friday!) – one day before the reopening!
