What is the use of acetone in adhesives?

What is the use of acetone in #glues?

Acetone is a strong solvent for adhesives such as epoxy (before drying), cyanoacrylate and polyvinyl alcohol (wood glue).

Clean the surface with acetone before applying any glue! Acetone is able to quickly dissolve dirt and grease that reduce the strength of adhesion.

In polyurethane adhesives, a mixture of acetone and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) solvents can be used instead of dangerous solvents such as toluene.

But acetone is not able to destroy and dissolve which coatings and adhesives!?
