A house whose light is no longer on!
A look at the state of the house of the most influential municipality that transformed Tabriz!
Address: Tabriz, Mansour St., corner of Mirza Reza Alley
As the ninth mayor of Tabriz between 1299 and 1297 and 1309 and 1310 as well as 1313 and 1316 AH, Haj Hossein Qali Khan Jalili (Arfa al-Mulk) was the key to Tabriz, and according to many scholars, Tabriz underwent a tremendous transformation in its urban structure. He saw himself, as we are witnessing the durability of those efforts.
Perhaps the height of Arfa al-Mulk’s fame goes back to the time when he was able to save Tabriz from the danger of flooding by building the wall of the tea square (Mehrane Rood) and without receiving credit from Reza Khan, or perhaps when his name became famous and special when he built the mansion and the municipal palace and the tower He started the clock, or maybe when he built the first modern slaughterhouse in Tabriz, or maybe when he became Arfa al-Mulk when he officially announced Fridays as holidays, or maybe, thousands of other maybes.
Arfa al-Mulk Jalili, the son of the old city of Tabriz, was among the philanthropists who was elected as the mayor based on meritocracy. Kes), are brilliant works that have been remembered in his career.
Arfa al-Mulk was a historical figure, without a doubt, the place of residence of this great man of the history of Tabriz has many attractions for those who are still witnessing the historical beauty of Tabriz in the field of urban planning.
This house, which used to be a place of passage for prominent figures of history and people of culture and knowledge, has now turned into a ruin, with only a beautiful door and trees that have grown to the sky from the yard of this house.
The house of Arfa-ul-Mulk has a historical date, it can be traced from the beautiful door of this house. Unfortunately, only the roof of this house is nationally registered and the interior of the house is not considered as a historical monument.
Neighbors who have just moved in only know that it is an old abandoned house that they have neither seen nor know the owner of the house. Those who are among the oldest residents of Jalili neighborhood only know that this was the house of the first mayor of Tabriz.
The butcher of the neighborhood is one of the oldest residents of the neighborhood.
He says: This is the house of Hossein Qali Khan Jalili, known as Arfa-ul-Mulk, who has changed three owners so far after the sale of this house by the Arfa-ul-Mulk family.
When the previous owner of the house was selling this house to the current owner, I visited the inside of the house, the yard, the big garden, the towering trees, and the stonework inside the house will never be erased from my mind.
This local businessman talks in Borzban so attractively from inside the house that one is tempted to enter that house at night to see with his own eyes what he heard.
Regarding the area and infrastructure of the house, he says: I do not know the exact area of this house. I can only say that this house has been sold in pieces, part of this house has been converted into a bank, part into a school, and part into a shop, and now only 1,500 meters of this house remain.
We hope that the cultural heritage organization, in cooperation with the Tabriz municipality, will register this house among the historical monuments of the province, so that the name of Arfa al-Mulk and his precious services will be spoken again.
