Types of universities in Iran
1- National (state) university:
When someone says I want to go to university, he mostly means public universities, and of course 99% of prominent universities in the country are public, public universities attract students in the following courses:
1- daily
2- at night
3- Tuition fee (including self-governing campus)
2- Islamic Azad University:
A large university with a large number of branches (educational units) all over the country, each of which has a series of courses, and in terms of scientific level is lower than national universities, but on the other hand, its tuition is lower than self-governing campuses. One of the best offers for those who want to immigrate or work alongside the university is Azade University.
Please note that Azad University has smaller centers under the title of “Sama Technical and Vocational” which offers a 2-year study period and a postgraduate degree, and admission is separate.
3- Payam Noor University:
The system of this university is part-time, and its degree is issued by the Ministry of Science, its face-to-face classes are limited to practical courses, and students choose a series of courses at the beginning of the semester and test them at the end of the semester. Payam Noor University is one of the public universities, but studying in this university is not free and tuition must be paid, but the price is much lower than Azad University and night admission. It should be noted that the exams of Payam Noor universities are held nationally and a large part of the score is not in the hand of the professor. Also, boys who have problems with military service, due to the low tuition fees of this university, usually enroll in it so that they can pass the entrance exam.
4- Non-profit university:
It is similar to a non-profit school, the cost is relatively balanced and almost a little lower than an open university, and it may have a lower academic level than national and open universities, but there are examples of violations in some provinces and cities, such as Farhang and Surah for profit in Tehran or Sheikh Baha’i in Isfahan or even Eram and Zand in Shiraz which are very famous and have a high scientific level.
The
5- Applied scientific university:
Admission is based solely on academic records, and its cost is cheaper than all universities, and maybe it is easier to get a degree. In addition, the fields offered in applied science are skill-oriented, such as firefighting, hotel management, and tourism, and the chances of getting a job are very high, but one of its disadvantages is the length of study, which unlike the above cases, a person receives an associate degree after 4 semesters. and it is necessary to register again for the bachelor’s degree.
