Ashura is the birth of Tasu’a
It is known that the incident of Karbala was supposed to happen on the 9th of Muharram. But when Imam Hussain (a.s.) became aware of the enemy’s intentions, he sent Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) as his ambassador to ask them to pray for three things; Reading the Qur’an and prayers to God should be respite and postpone the war until tomorrow morning. Shamar and Umar Saad agreed to this request with the motive – according to their crude imagination – to separate Hazrat Abbas (AS) from the army of Imam Hussain (AS) and the result It happened that the war was postponed from the 9th to the 10th day. But why did the imam ask for this deadline? Did he pray less? Did he read little Quran? Did he pray less? Someone who speaks the Qur’an himself; The one whose prayer is accepted by accepting his guardianship, the one who wants God with all his being; Why should he make such a request to the enemy? He who knows that he will not survive this fate and considers the martyrdom of himself and his companions to be certain, whether it is a day earlier or a day later; what is the difference?
But in addition to the three issues that were mentioned, the Imam had two other issues in mind:
1- Sifting impurities from your camp. For this purpose, he announces to everyone that tomorrow they will all be killed and by removing their allegiance, he leaves them free to stay or go, so that everyone who wants to go can go under the shelter of the darkness of the night.
2- Raising the capacity of your companions through prayer; Quran and prayer to God. Those who stayed that night found so much clarity and capacity in their hearts with Imam’s speech that we witnessed that on the day of Ashura, there was not the least doubt or weakness in them and no one, friend or enemy, had the least weakness in the camp of Imam Hussain (a.s.). has not reported Rather, everyone has said about the courage and sacrifice of the Imam’s companions. The like of which has not been mentioned in any event.
As an example, George Jardaq (a Christian scientist and writer) says: When Yazid encouraged people to kill Imam Hussein (AS) and ordered bloodshed, they said: What amount will you give us? But Hussain’s followers (pbuh) told him: We are with you and if we are killed seventy times, we want to fight and be killed again.
I know death, but if you have a friend on the way, tell me if you are closer.
In this poem, he says that I know the death you say, but show me a way close to it. The issue of Karbala is the same. There has been a lot of murder in the world: looting, killing, oppression and oppression. All these have existed since the beginning of creation and since one of the sons of Hazrat Adam (pbuh) killed his other son, and we know that when God wanted to create man, the angels said that he is a bloody creature, but scenes in history is that they have a divine manifestation; The martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions is like this.
Yes, as we said in the meaning of Tasua, in Tasua the capacities increased and Ashura became the generator of Tasua. This is the foundation of Tasu’a, that on Ashura, Imam’s companions surpassed each other in sacrificing their whole being. What wavered in Ashura was the passion that the Imam’s companions showed in fulfilling their divine duty towards the Imam, and this passion was the result of the revelation that Tasua had created in their hearts and was the basis for it.
