Austrian embassy interview experience

#Experience _ Austrian embassy interview
hello friends My wife and I had an interview at the Austrian Embassy on Wednesday, August 2. I applied for a student residence visa and my wife applied for a companion application. The first point is that many people told us that the Austrian embassy does not apply for accompanying visas at the same time, but they gave us time for an interview.
My interview time was at 8:20 and my wife’s at 8:40, and the embassy doorman sent us both inside at 8:05. After the passport check, we passed the gate and entered the main hall. It had three counters, two of which took requests. We went to the counter on the right. A young lady was behind the counter and asked us what is your request. I said, “A student who asked both of you?” I said no, only me. First, he took the original documents from me, and then the copies and my passport. He did a general check and then said sit down and I will check your documents. The questions he asked me:
1. Regarding the admission, he asked me whether you got admission yourself and to give an explanation of how I did it
2. He asked me how the university sent you the acceptance letter? That I said by post.
3. He asked me if I know German or not? As I said, my admission is in English, but I am also taking German classes.
4. Regarding my supporters, he asked how they relate to me.

After completing my documents, he took the original and copy of my wife’s documents and then called us for fingerprinting. We paid 280 euros and he gave us a receipt and our request was completed. And a few points:
First, don’t sign the form because you have to sign in front of them. Of course, we had already signed, so it didn’t stick with us.
Second, be sure to prepare a copy of any document you want to include in your application. For example, I didn’t have a copy of my Austrian insurance so I had to go and get it.
Third, be sure to have the documents that they ask you to have complete, because for this, the documents that are specified by themselves are a priority, and if they are not, they will give you a defect. You can submit any additional documents you want, but you must have extra copies.
Fourth, the copies must be the same, because they are very difficult in this case. I had taken the deed of my house, which was not accepted, but luckily I had an extra copy in the documents.
Fifth, don’t trust too much what is written on the site about the documents and carefully research what they are asking for. For example, they write in the list of documents that 120 euros are consular fees, but they charge 140 euros. Do a thorough research first so you don’t get into trouble.
Sixth, I was very worried about the photo. He didn’t ask us for a single photo and he didn’t bother about the size, he cut it with scissors himself. Seventh, arrange the documents in the order you want so that you don’t get stressed and have problems there. Because they check that you have arranged the documents correctly.
In the end, before we went inside, they told us that they would stress us out and treat us badly, but the lady who took our application was very friendly and did not stress us at all, she even helped us to complete our application and gave us time to get a copy. He gave us to go and get it.
Good luck to all friends.
