The story of Ebrahim Golestan’s meeting with “Agata Chrissi” at the house of Dr. “Negheban”!

Ebrahim Golestan: “In 1344 or maybe 1345, Dr. Gardin, whose work I had filmed in Marlik, called me to say that I have a friend who is an English archaeologist and has come to Iran, and I want him to watch Marlik’s movie. Can I bring him to you? I said: They definitely came later and watched the movie, and we went to Dr. Garganj’s house for lunch, in Darband.

At the lunch table, the English archaeologist, who was also a very big lady, was sitting next to me and praised Marlick’s film a lot, and then asked me: What interest did you make this film on?

I said that this film is like a police and detective story, which is also discovered bit by bit. He said: You like police stories. I said: A lot.  He said: Which stories have you read? I said: The first police stories I read were a long time ago and those “Sherlock Holmes” stories were translated from Russian to Farsi and were published in Istanbul. But after that, the more serious stories I read were Agatha Christie’s.

He said: Did you study in English? I said: Not in Farsi. He said: Has it been translated? I said: Yes. He said: I had no news. I said: Well, many people do not know many things. He said: I am Agatha Christie herself.

I was very surprised and very happy. She was a kind woman and very old. I praised her “Hercule Poirot” stories a lot.

He liked my film very much, especially the archeological aspect of it, which has the same spirit as a police adventure.
