Cash on announcing the names of bank debtors

Ali Salehabadi, after the meeting with the CEOs of the banks, in response to the IRNA reporter regarding the publication of the list of bank debtors by the central bank, said:
As we promised before, this list will be published with more details by the end of the week.

This promise is made in the media as if an economic achievement that was the result of the efforts and management of economic decision-makers has occurred, while there are several points that can be criticized in this story:

1- Although it is claimed that the legal obstacles to the disclosure of the bank customers’ information have been removed, but without a doubt, announcing the names of the bank debtors is not so simple and has a fundamental problem, and that is that the debt is one of the secrets of the bank customers, and no bank, person, or government official has the right to disclose without a court order. And it does not make public the name and sign of the debtor and his outstanding debt, therefore, disclosing the names of debtors in this illegal way will have no consequences other than spreading the name and worrying and discouraging economic activists.

Apart from this, it is enough to imagine that an ordinary depositor of the bank will hear this amount of negative news about the bank in the confused media environment, and this will become an epidemic in the public space. After this, how do you want trust as the main capital of the economy? And attract the banking system.

2- Disclosure of the debtor’s name is neither a virtue for the whistleblower nor a guarantee for the removal of economic disasters, but it is a document of the incompetence of the decision makers and the weakness of the upper institutions. Will these facilities be granted without the necessary guarantee and qualification from them?

These loans without the permission of the upstream institutions from the central bank. It has not happened, how is it that without naming the main culprits in a populist action, the name of the debtor is only supposed to be mentioned.

3- Some of the people who are mentioned in the news and the promise of announcing the names of the debtors have previously held important management positions in banks whose names of some of their customers are on the tongue today as economic and financial disruptors. Are these officials proud of the fact that soon We will reveal the names of the super debtors, will they mention their role in the past?

4- In the conditions of public dissatisfaction with the economic situation, the so-called populist and like-minded movements, which are more of the nature of the virtual space and media propaganda, are tied to the maneuver of announcing the names of debtors, but have they considered the objective results of this action?

The popularization of announcing the names of people as debtors without the rule of law, what image of our economy and monetary-banking system will show to domestic and foreign investors, and what will its effect be on the mass of people who only hear such names from the entire banking system. was These questions are the questions that are important for those who study the economy from the perspective of rationality, beyond the noise caused by the media fever.

5- To what extent do the decision makers of the country, in the conditions of the rapid growth of inflation and the incompetence of the economic managers of the government, and the living conditions of the people getting more and more difficult, are they committed to such projections? To what extent can we be happy that people’s bellies will be filled and job creation for unemployed youth? Can we still hope that by directing people’s livelihood dissatisfaction to deviant points, they will be safe from harm? The answer is definitely negative and this time no one but people will be hurt.
