Climate change makes people 50% poorer
According to Tejarat News, researchers found that an increase of one degree Celsius in global temperature leads to a 12% decrease in global gross domestic product (GDP). The world has warmed more than 1°C since pre-industrial times, and many scientists predict a 3°C increase by the end of this century.

The catastrophic effects of climate change
New statistics predict that a temperature increase of three degrees Celsius will cause a sharp reduction in production, capital and consumption, exceeding 50% by 2100. This economic loss is so severe that it is comparable to the economic loss caused by a permanent civil war.
Climate change means extreme poverty for billions of people around the world. “There will still be economic growth, but by the end of the century people may be 50 percent poorer,” says Harvard economist Adrien Bilal. “Also, purchasing power has decreased by 37% and will steadily worsen.”
