Column fractures
Column breakage that can be seen in the form of building collapse or its shape change includes the following breakages.
1- Buckling rupture: when it happens that the column is affected by the axial load more than the critical buckling load, this rupture leads to the outward bending of the column.
2- Compressive rupture (crushing): It happens when the column was unable to withstand the axial load and this increase in pressure causes rupture and deformation in the form of crushing in the column.
3- Shear rupture: when it happens that the column is affected by a lateral force that causes a rupture in its diagonal plane (45 degree plane to the horizon), this rupture is usually associated with tearing.
