Concrete slab roof system (R

– Concrete slab roof system (R.C. Slab):

The concrete slab roof is a continuous concrete roof that is reinforced by the reinforcement network. The performance of this roof in the distribution and transmission of power can be one-way and two-way (according to the ratio of length to width greater than 2 or less than that). The double-sided slab has a better performance than the one-sided slab due to the fact that it divides the force in two directions. does not perform well). Concrete slabs generally perform well in concrete frame buildings and are not very suitable for steel frames.

Types of concrete slabs
In the custom of civil engineering, any type of reinforced concrete with a network of #rebars is called a #slab, for example, a wide foundation (general radius) or #concrete pouring on other types of roofs are also called slabs, but concrete slab roofs obviously have different types. is below:

#bed_plate:
in which the beam is not implemented and the columns and shear walls are connected directly through concrete slabs, Kobiax and Ubot roofs are also considered to be of this type of slab (these two types of roofs are due to the widespread advertising in recent years in have had at the country level and the ambiguities in their design and performance will be investigated separately in future posts). The use of this type of roofs has limitations due to their lower rigidity compared to the beams of the slabs, and these limitations are shown in the following figures.

#Tir_Dal:
In this type of roof, main beams are also implemented, although this type of slab is usually heavier than composite roofs or block beams, but it is one of the best types of roofs in terms of structure and rigidity.

Concrete slab:
It is a type of slab beam in which beams are executed perpendicular to each other in each spring. This type of slab has more rigidity than beam slabs and can be used for larger openings.

Pre-tensioned and post-tensioned concrete slab:
This type of roof, which is mostly used in the west of the United States, is one of the new types of roofs in our country. This type of roof is one of the best types of roofs in terms of structural performance and rigidity, and although it is thinner and lighter than other roofs in terms of thickness and weight, it has been used for very large openings.
In this type of roof, instead of rebar, tensile cables (tandem) are used. In short, if these cables are subjected to tensile force before concreting (prestressing force), the resulting slab is called prestressed slab, and if the cables are subjected to tensile force after the concrete hardens, it is called post-tensioned concrete slab. Due to the importance of these types of roofs, this type of roof will be re-examined separately in the next posts.
