Dear Mr. Fattah, Personally, if I have a problem on the phone, as long as it does not interfere with my work and does not deviate from the norm, I will give free advice and probably the respected colleagues who have contacted me before will understand and know what I mean. But I would like to share a few points with you:
1- When you visit the doctor’s office for the treatment of even a very simple disease like a cold, before talking to the doctor, you pay the visit to the secretary, and after the visit, even if this sentence comes to your mind, I knew this myself. You cannot withdraw the right to visit. General veterinarians study and work as hard as a general practitioner and even more. The income of a veterinarian clinician is naturally from the prevention and treatment of animal diseases, and with this mentality, he must receive payment for services such as telephone consultation, face-to-face consultation, or treatment. Just like the ostrich breeder for the services he provides, including chickens, fatteners, breeders, etc. He must receive payment.
2- In many cases, remote or telephone consultation is not efficient and the veterinarian must perform the treatment in person. In these cases, sometimes there is a misunderstanding that the veterinarian only proposes an in-person visit because he wants to demand money.
3- About your sick dog. If I, a veterinarian, want to consult by phone or virtual, I need to get a lot of information from you, and the output of all that information will be a few drugs or solutions, such as:
– How many days have you been involved?
– Is only the earlobe involved or are the external, middle and internal ear canals involved?
– Is the animal’s balance disturbed while standing or walking?
– Does the animal have a fever or not?
– Are the lymph nodes inflamed or not?
– How is the animal’s appetite?
– What is the color, consistency and smell of the secretions?
– And many other questions. Now, without receiving any money, should the veterinarian take the time to be able to perform the correct treatment?
4- And finally, regarding the ostrich, unfortunately, the subject of the veterinary medicine course has not been presented in any university, and unfortunately the university professors do not have enough information to provide the students. This issue causes that sometimes veterinarians do not have specific information about this animal, which naturally should not cause annoyance to respected colleagues.
