Pointing to the necessity of resilience, Shekarchizadeh said: resilience is not only related to natural disasters, but there is a close relationship between risk reduction and resilience, and all of these factors are factors of sustainable development.
He continued: The evaluations show that we are lacking in resilience, and cases such as the Sarpol Zahab and Plasko earthquakes showed that we are far from the optimal conditions for resilience.
Shekarchizadeh added: In this earthquake, considering that 60% of the buildings remained intact, it showed that the selected path was correct, but we must speed up the work, in addition to this, the social conditions must also be taken into account, because in these incidents, distrust between People created society and government.
He said about the need to pay attention to the resilience of the buildings built in the past: the Plasko building collapsed due to lack of resilience against the load of fire, and for about 40 years, this building was on its feet against rubble, gravity load and exploitation.
