Different parts of industrial paging systems

With the progress of the industry and the expansion of industrial centers, new needs have emerged in order to create coordination and effective management of these spaces, including these needs, the need to announce certain messages, the communication of different levels of the industrial unit, and broadcast messages in times of accidents. And it was an emergency.

The existence of these communication needs in industrial environments formed the foundations of designing paging and intercom systems or (Public address & Inter Communication).

Today, with the advancement of technology, these devices have multiple capabilities to facilitate communication with the best quality.

With the help of this system, it is possible to broadcast a message on behalf of the system operator or any of the intercoms connected to the system on all or a defined number of speakers (Zone). Also, the device operator can establish voice communication if necessary. with each of the intercoms, and conversely, each of the intercoms also has the possibility of establishing a connection with the operator or any of the other intercoms connected to the system.

These industrial paging systems have the following parts and equipment:

Paging and intercom system control panel
Operator console
intercom
Speaker
Bell and flashing lights
Accessories such as hood and base
Junction Box
Cable
control panel

Panels in industrial paging systems are like control panels in the design of electrical systems.

The task of these panels is to establish communication and disconnect and connect different parts of the communication system, switches and intercoms.

The amplifiers, which are responsible for amplifying the received signals, are placed in the control panels.

The power of the amplifiers is considered based on the number of speakers used in each zone with +20%, backup amplifiers may also be used in the system.

The control panels categorize the speakers into separate zones with software definitions, and the sound is played through the operator’s desktop device or any of the intercoms on the selected zone, or if desired, the sound is broadcast as All Call. It takes place on all speakers.

Using an interface card, the connection between the fire alarm or F&G equipment is established with the public notification system, and if a signal of fire or gas leakage is sent to the control panel, the necessary warnings are broadcasted.

One of the capabilities of paging systems in very large places with multiple communication centers is the possibility of integrating the communication system.

Operator console

This console, like the operator console of telephone systems, has a series of dialers to get the numbers of intercoms and establish communication with them, and next to it there are a series of Direct key buttons, some of which are for direct communication with intercoms without dialing. and a number of others for paging work in defined zones as well as Emergency Call and all call. It is embedded that the exact number depends on the capacity of the control system.

These buttons, with an LED on top of them, notify the operator by blinking when a call request is made to one of the units. This desktop device has a headset or headset and a strong neck microphone to transmit the operator’s voice.
