Floor ventilation

Floor ventilation

In the floor ventilation method, which is completely new, channels are created on the floor of the hall, holes are placed on these channels, nets are installed on the holes, and ventilators are placed at the end of these channels. This system can be used in halls of different dimensions and different climates.

When the fans start working, the air enters the channel through these openings and exits at the end of the channel. The best place to place these openings is under the feeders and waterers, because first of all, there is the largest concentration of chickens there, and it does not occupy the useful space of the hall.

The method of air entering the hall in this system:

The fresh air that should be introduced into the hall in this way can enter the hall through the windows without any problem when there is no need to heat and cool it, but in winter and summer when the air temperature needs to be adjusted, the air can be brought in from Through a channel made by galvanized sheet and placed in the ceiling (similar to the jet fan system) it enters the hall through the holes on it with the help of a fan.

If this ventilation system is implemented in a hall, since the volume of ventilation is greatly reduced, the heat recovery system in ventilation, or HRV, can be implemented easily and at a low cost, so that in winters, the air entering the hall should be To heat up to at least 20 degrees Celsius, the hot and polluted air leaving the floor channels of the hall passes through an air-to-air exchanger and transfers its heat to the cold and clean incoming air.

Advantages of the system

This system has many advantages over other common systems, including:

1- A significant reduction in the required ventilation, especially in the summer: in this method, due to the fact that the air flow is from top to bottom, the excess heat that must be removed from the hall in the summer does not enter the air in the hall, and the need for ventilation is greatly reduced. .

2- Reduction of fuel consumption: If this ventilation system is implemented in a hall, due to the reduction of the amount of ventilation, the amount of fuel consumption will also decrease, especially in winters. And if the HRV system is implemented, this reduction in fuel consumption reaches more than 80%, because the heat emitted from the chickens’ bodies and the lamps in the hall are also used to heat the hall.

3- Reducing the amount of electricity consumption: Considering that fans are one of the deliberate consumers of electricity in poultry houses, one of the results of reducing the amount of ventilation is the reduction of electricity consumption.

4- Significant reduction in hall air pollution: One of the most important advantages of this plan is the reduction of hall air pollution. Because the most important gases that pollute the air in the hall are carbon dioxide, which is the result of the breathing of chickens, as well as ammonia, and which is the result of the activity of bacteria in the bed, and both are heavier than air, and also the dust, which is the result of the physical activity of the chickens, is all produced on the floor of the hall. It is absorbed and enters the channels and is expelled through it, and because the air flow is from top to bottom, the air in the hall, as well as the air that the chickens breathe, is always healthy and fresh, which results in the comfort and convenience of the workers in the hall, as well as preventing respiratory diseases and The death of chickens.

5- Uniformity of air everywhere in the hall: because in this system, the air is uniformly absorbed in the channels throughout the year, blinds are not created in the hall. (blinds in the hall cause stress on the chickens)

6- Reducing the height of the ceiling: in the halls where this ventilation system is implemented simultaneously with the construction of the hall, the height of the ceiling can be set as low as possible. Because of the low air speed in this system, the air speed is also low at the maximum amount of ventilation. And it does not create a problem for the herd.

Friends, share your experiences on this matter.
Good luck
