Hello Tehran!

The International Space Station is moving in a near-Earth orbit at an altitude of 330 to 435 km from the Earth’s surface. Its speed in orbit is equal to 27,600 km/h. This station orbits the earth once every 93 minutes, which makes a total of 15.5 orbits around the earth every day.

While publishing pictures of Tehran from the International Space Station, NASA astronaut Yasmin Moqbali wrote: Ever since I arrived at the space station, I have been eager to capture pictures of Tehran from the perspective of space.

In the mornings, I see the orbiting station program for that day, and if I see that Tehran is within the range of vision, I try to get myself to a window. Sometimes busy work does not allow. Sometimes the light makes the transition from day to night photography impossible; And often, there are clouds right above Tehran.

Eventually, everything came together and I was able to capture some decent images. Our orbit was such that we passed almost directly above Tehran. About 250 miles above Tehran, this is perhaps the closest I can get to where my parents were born and raised.
