I have written my personal experience about PowerPoint for interviews before, but I will complete it again:
Try to prepare a summary of yourself and your previous work in 10-15 minutes. The number of slides completely depends on your work and the speed of your presentation, but it is more professional to stay on each slide for more than one minute. Because it causes fatigue and monotony. So the number of slides should be more than 10.
Follow the suggestions to adjust the power in Iran. Like using less text, using keywords to remember the topic and using related images, graphs, appropriate colors, etc.
Power content:
– Your power should be simple and light, but elegant and neat. Use a theme. Justify the texts and the images should be of good quality and the writing should be legible.
– It must have a cover. It is not bad to include your name and the title of the cartoon and the name of the professor and university.
– The list of titles you are going to present.
– Brief bio about yourself.
– A slide of favorites.
-Bachelor’s course including projects and thesis (if there is no specific topic in it, no more than a slide. Just say the title)
Senior thesis (the topic, method and result of your cartoon should be. If it is related to the position, you can explain more and bring more documents and pictures. You don’t have to explain everything except for details. Just say that this diagram is for a certain test, this image is of a certain device. I worked, and if they have any doubts or questions, they will ask later or during the presentation.
– Articles (explain almost like a thesis. I only present very important articles related to the topic)
-Additional projects
– Proposal/idea for position *
– A thank you slide with your name and email.
Remember, your power is not supposed to explain everything. Just the opening for the first meeting, you will get the management of the interview, you will gain confidence and your stress will be reduced. Most importantly, your opposing team will understand exactly your mentality and you will all be in the same atmosphere.
* About the positions for which it is not bad to ask you for a proposal or idea, assign one or more slides to the idea/proposal. I usually add a new chapter called phd after the complete introduction of my works and articles, and there I explain my idea with more pictures.
This is an important part. When I interviewed a few times, most of them welcomed this part very much (in the middle of the interview, I asked them to zoom in on the graph and they themselves checked my studies more closely and said that this is exactly our problem!). Try to make a proposal by reading and documenting and address their concerns and problems exactly.
