Abbas Abdi’s harsh criticism of the Guardian Council

Mr. Mohammad Bahadri Jahrami, one of the senior directors of the Guardian Council Research Institute, wrote:
6 years have passed since the government supported by you.
First of all, dear sir, if I write a partisan opinion, there is nothing wrong with it. I am a political and social activist. But when you use political and factional literature as a researcher and among the operatives of the Guardian Council, you harm the position of that council. Of course, this is not new. This happened on the day when a large number of council members attended the political activities of a presidential candidate and completely tarnished the credibility of the council. It didn’t take long for the same people to reject the eligibility of the same person to run in the elections! And they considered his presence as a new sedition. His simple and mundane letter to the American president was introduced as divine inspiration! And that it should be taught to all children, it didn’t take long before they disqualified him and called him a new conspiracy. They have created a parliament that they don’t even have the ability to defend.
Secondly, Mr. Rouhani is currently the president of the country. But he was not and is not our desired president. I was one of the first people who supported him in 1992 and 1996, but don’t forget that if you tell me to write a list of your preferred people to become president, I doubt that the hundredth person will be the approved candidates of the Guardian Council. You must be asking why did I vote? The answer is clear. First, we were told to participate for the sake of Iran. But I would have participated without this speech, because there is no other way. It is my decision to prefer this between non-participation and participation and choosing between those two candidates. My hand is not open. We have learned to deal with limitations. It is the same not only about the presidency, but also about the parliament.
In addition, the identification of the Republic of the Guardian Council is a characteristic. You, who have considered them to have these characteristics, should be responsible. I do not consider many of them to be suitable examples of any of the candidates. But what should I do if one of the two options should be preferred over the other?
In the last 30 years, you have recognized 4 presidents as possessing these qualities, and you have disqualified or removed all four of them later. There was nothing that your friends did not say against them. I have not found these characteristics suitable for them to be responsible for my limited choice today.
Now you are shrugging off the responsibility of matching these characteristics and challenging others with very political and factional literature? The day I can vote for my desired candidate, then I will be responsible.
The biggest danger of this country is the gap between power and responsibility. The Guardian Council holds the main foundations of power and determines the eligibility of the candidate and the law for the people. He does, but he avoids accepting a minimum of responsibility.
