Intelligent killer theory!
In 1841, the ship “Brown” sank near the coast of Newfoundland. To save the passengers, the lifeboats were not as big as the passengers: while 74 people were on the boat, it had a capacity of only 60 people; And this means the sinking of the lifeboat.
The vice captain ordered a sailor named Holmes to throw 14 people overboard. He threw 13 men into the sea and one woman jumped into the water with them in order not to be separated from her lover and they all drowned. But the rest were saved. Holmes was later arrested and charged with unlawful killing.
During the trial, it was asked what criteria Holmes had for choosing his victims.
The answer was: all the crew of the ship had to stay alive to save the lives of the others. Children, married women, single women and married men were the next priorities, respectively. They threw unmarried men into the sea. The fact was that the selection criteria reflected the values of that time and the special conditions of the ship.
Function: Save the ship’s crew by helping to save others
Age and gender: Priority of children and women who are more vulnerable.
Marriage: the image of holy marriage
conclusion
We are in Brown’s ship every day, and every day we are faced with painful choices. You have to sacrifice one and throw it into the sea and keep the other. It is with these choices (read these killings and keeping alive) that you choose the fate of a life, an organization and a country. Every choice means choosing a victim! And that means to take a knife and cut off the head of other options at the foot of the selected option.
Therefore, two things can be learned from this point of view:
We all hate murder. Our preference is to keep everyone in the boat, but the problem is that sometimes (but not always) keeping everyone in the boat kills everyone. This is where indecision leads to disaster. A system that fails to make painful choices and sacrifices some will kill all.
Now that we have to make a choice or in other words we have to be a killer, we have to be a smart killer. It is very vital to really recognize the priorities of our life, organization and country. The killer must be smart. The first step of being smart is to get rid of the usual options; The options we have chosen due to repetition, imitation and fear of abandoning traditions and habits.
