Introducing the field of #Medical_Physics #Tehran_University_of_Medical_Sciences
With the establishment of Tehran University in 1313, the teaching of “Physical Medicine” in the School of Medical Sciences was started by “#Mahmoud_Morshad_Zadeh”. After that, in 1319, Dr. Farhad established a medical physics laboratory. In 1345, this laboratory was transformed into a medical physics group from an administrative point of view, and Dr. Faridun Manocheharian took over the management of the group. After that, Dr. Abul Qasim Pazeshkian was appointed the director of the physiology and medical physics group, and Dr. Azizi was appointed as the head of the medical physics department. In 1350, a compound group of physiology, pharmacology and medical physics was formed called “Saf” group, which was dissolved in 1352, and the medical physics laboratory under the management of Dr Changed into an impersonation. After that, #Dr._Ezt_Allah_Golban_Moqdam, #Dr._Ali_Akbar_Khodadoost and #Dr._Gholamreza_Rehbri were in charge of managing the group.
During the years 1375 to 1383, Dr. Saeed Sarkar was elected as the director of the medical physics group of Tehran University. After him, Mr. #Dr. Hossein Qaraeti for one year, #Dr. Mohammad Ali Aqabiyan and #Dr. Mohammad Javad Abolhosni were in charge of managing the group for two years each.
From June 1389 to 1393 Dr. Alireza Ahmadian was in charge of managing the group.
Since October 2013, Dr. Mohammad Reza Ay has been managing the group.
Until 2016, in this group, 23 master’s courses in medical physics and 15 master’s courses in medical engineering, 1 master’s course in imaging technology, as well as 12 medical physics doctorate courses and 7 engineering doctorate courses Medical robotics has been held.
Currently, there are 404 graduate students in medical physics, 30 graduate students in medical engineering, 19 graduate students in imaging technology, 24 doctoral students in medical physics. 1 doctor of medical engineering and 1 expert in medical physics of International Campus and 5 PhD students of the international campus are engaged in education.
Currently, the members of the scientific team at the Research Institute of New Medical Technologies, Imam Khomeini Hospital, #Farabi Eye Research Center and #Medical Research Center It has an active participation in providing medical, educational and research services with #radiotherapy, #radiology and #nuclear medicine, #biomedical imaging groups. Medicine, #Molecular_Imaging, Medical Nanotechnology, Robotic Surgery, Optics and Laser collaborate closely with medical physics associations, medical engineering, specialized boards and other professional matters There are 17 academic staff. The facilities of the group include radiology, optics and ophthalmoscopy laboratories, dosimetry, chemistry-physics, pharmaceutical and laboratory sciences, general physics, image processing with programming and image processing laboratory.
