Iran needs the lifting of sanctions and free elections

Seyyed Mostafa Tajzadeh’s open letter to the head of the judiciary

Mr. Raisi! You mistakenly call the effort to lift the cruel US sanctions as an attempt to get concessions from the West, while the duty of every government is to break the siege against the country and try to take the rights and property of the nation from the throats of the embargoers. The name of this act is breaking the blockade, not seeking privileges.

If the head of the country’s judiciary does not know that one of the important reasons for the closure of factories in the last 4 years was Iran’s oil and banking sanctions, which is unfortunate! And if he knows and doesn’t see it to weaken the competitor, that’s it! Let’s leave aside Mr. Raisi’s opposition to FATF, which is considered a voluntary self-sanction and has aggravated the economic problems of the society.

Mr. Raisi! Can you name a country that has achieved an economic leap in the last 42 years, but did not take the first step to de-escalate the tension with the world and normalize its relations with other countries, including America? So don’t oppose the de-escalation strategy and the government’s effort to lift sanctions and negotiate and normalize Iran’s relations with America, and let Iran also be on the path of development and curb inflation and unemployment by creating economic prosperity and reduce the suffering of the people. .

If the oil and banking embargoes continue, it will not be possible to take advantage of the opportunities and benefits of globalization (along with efforts to minimize the costs of globalization and support the vulnerable and survivors of globalization) and fight effectively against poverty, corruption, crime and disease, and from the economic powers of the world. became.

Although the current sanctions are of American origin, all the countries of the world, including the neighbors and even China and Russia, are forced to follow them. Doesn’t the fact that a superpower like China stops its billion-dollar projects in Iran and cannot have normal trade with Iran despite our country’s dire need for oil show the global impact of sanctions?

When a country like China cannot violate the rules imposed by the US for sanctions, what can we expect from other countries in the world? And how can the sanctions, which have acquired a global character, be considered only American sanctions and be oblivious to their global effects that have surrounded Iran?

The slogan of relying on the inside becomes believable when the speaker emphasizes the use of the nation’s capacity in holding free elections and rejects the view that believes that maximum elections will create a security crisis for the country and that the non-competitive and minimal elections of the 11th parliament are glorious and the result of the will of the nation. Iran sings.

By raising the level of legitimacy of the Islamic Republic, the holding of free elections puts the American government in a defensive position and by obtaining the consent and participation of the people, it provides the ground for attracting international cooperation and economic prosperity of the country. A great example of looking inside and using the national capacity is holding free elections!
