Joint meeting of Faraja Traffic Police and Tehran Vehicle Technical Inspection Headquarters
On Sunday, the 8th of Bahman, during the meeting of Seyed Mohammad Mahdi Mirzaei Qomi, CEO of Tehran Vehicle Technical Inspection Headquarters, with Sergeant Seyed Taimur Hosseini, Head of Faraja Traffic Police, topics related to increasing the effectiveness of technical inspection in reducing air pollution and accidents were discussed and exchanged. .
According to the public relations report, at the beginning of this meeting, Mirzaei Qomi, while presenting a report on the status of referrals to technical inspection centers in Tehran and the latest measures taken by the headquarters in order to facilitate the provision of services to citizens, said: “In the last decade, the share of motorcycles in daily transportation in Tehran has increased from About 7% has reached 13% and it is expected that this share will increase to 15%. This change in share and the problems caused by these vehicles in terms of increasing air pollution and accidents is a warning that a mechanism should be devised as soon as possible to organize these vehicles and to monitor and carry out their technical examination.
He mentioned that only about 700 motorcycles have been referred to the technical examination centers of Tehran since the beginning of the year and added: Tehran has 11 motorcycle technical examination lines in the centers, and the number of referrals to these centers is almost zero. The implementation of various plans by the police and Tehran municipality to discipline and organize motorcycles in recent years shows that the city administration is concerned about organizing these vehicles along with the traffic police.
The managing director of the technical inspection headquarters announced his readiness to facilitate the access to motorcycle technical inspection through the development of mobile lines and stated: According to the law, all vehicles are required to undergo a period of technical inspection, and motorcycles are not exempt from this. Undoubtedly, the implementation of any social and urban discipline, in addition to legal encounters, requires culture-building that the technical inspection headquarters can cooperate with the purpose of institutionalizing this requirement and the law in the field of implementing incentive plans for the technical inspection of motorcycles.
At the end of this meeting, it was agreed that a memorandum of understanding centered on the creation of necessary mechanisms for the implementation of positive plans in order to encourage and motivate motorcycles to perform technical inspection, should be compiled and exchanged after checking the details and coordinating the implementation method.
