What is unemployment insurance?
Unemployment insurance is one of the social security protections and the social security organization is obliged to pay unemployment insurance to the insured who become unemployed according to the provisions of this law by receiving the prescribed insurance premium. According to Article 2 of the Unemployment Insurance Law, an unemployed person is an insured person who is unemployed without his will and is ready to work. Therefore, the insured persons who are recognized as temporarily unemployed due to the change in the economic structure of the relevant unit, as determined by the relevant ministry and approved by the Supreme Labor Council, will be subject to the provisions of this law. Insureds who become unemployed due to unexpected events such as floods, earthquakes, etc. can benefit from the benefits of this law. In general, the involuntary nature of unemployment is the main criterion for establishing legal protections for unemployed insured persons.
Of course, the insured has the right to receive unemployment insurance if he has paid unemployment insurance premiums for at least 6 months before becoming unemployed (at the time of preparing the salary list, 3% of the total salary is calculated as unemployment insurance and It is the responsibility of the employer to pay it. (Tabriz Employment Channel) unless he becomes unemployed due to unforeseen events such as flood, war, earthquake, etc. The social worker should inform his readiness to work in a specialized or similar job.
The total period of prescribed payment from the time of receiving unemployment insurance benefits, whether it is a trial or permanent period, is a maximum of 36 months for single people and a maximum of 50 months for married or married people, based on the overall history of paying insurance premiums.

Unemployment insurance payment period for married and dependent insured persons: 12 months
Insurance premium payment history: from 25 to 120 months

Unemployment insurance payment period for unmarried insured persons: 18 months
Unemployment insurance payment period for married and dependent insured persons: 26 months
Insurance premium payment history: from 181 to 240 months
Unemployment insurance payment period for unmarried insured persons: 26 months

Note:
– The period of receiving unemployment insurance is considered among the insurance premium payment records.
– The provision of unemployment insurance for eligible people can be paid from the first day of unemployment.
– The provision of unemployment insurance for the unemployed insured will be terminated upon re-employment.
– The provision of unemployment insurance for an unemployed insured person will be terminated upon the expiration of the insured’s eligibility period to receive the provision and the termination of this period.
