Transparency and Justice Education Commission member: face-to-face exams are in contradiction with virtual education!
Ali Amraei, a member of the Education Commission of Transparency and Justice Watch, said in an interview with an education reporter: In April this year, the national headquarters of Corona correctly gave an order to hold classes in person; This order was implemented in many universities for a few days, but unfortunately, many universities returned to the virtual routine.
He added: due to the fact that at the time of choosing the unit, it was planned to hold virtual classes, due to the fact that the classes are virtual, the students registered the course units on all days of the week, and some students have a curriculum from Saturday to Thursday. The classes are scattered, for example, a student has two classes in one day, one in the morning and one in the evening, and he has to stay at the university from morning to evening and wait for the evening class.
Emrai pointed out that two years of trainings were virtual, and added: In the short time that the universities became face-to-face, non-native students faced the problem of lack of dormitories and resting places, and this caused virtual training to be held again in some units.
The member of the Education Commission of Transparency and Justice of the country continued: Now the time for students’ exams has come, but there are talks about face-to-face exams and this is when face-to-face exams are in conflict with virtual education.
He stated that we are against the face-to-face exam with these conditions and that the preparations for the face-to-face exams are not ready, he said: University officials across the country should help students, especially non-native students, so that the exams are virtual and there is no problem with students’ accommodation and transportation. And God willing, starting from the new academic semester, universities will think about dormitories for students and all students in all grades will participate seriously in classes and face-to-face exams, so that we will no longer witness the reluctance of some people to education and the academic decline of students and universities.
Emrai clarified: Our request is that considering that the students’ unit selection has been scattered and since the beginning of the semester, most of the professors have been teaching online, the end-of-semester exams for theoretical units, especially at the bachelor’s level, should be virtual.
