My wife asked me to spend a night with another woman.
He defined friendship:
After years of being together, my wife asked me out with another woman for dinner and a movie.
My wife said: Although I love you, I am sure that this woman also loves you and will enjoy going out with you.
The woman my wife insisted I spend the night with was my mother.
My mother had been alone since 8 years ago, after the death of my father, but the busyness of my life and having 3 children made me visit her only on random and irregular occasions.
That night I called him to go out for a movie and dinner.
My mother asked worriedly what happened? Did something happen?!
I told him: No, I just thought it would be very pleasant if we were together tonight.
I was a little nervous when I went to pick him up that night. When I arrived I saw that she was also a bit nervous, she was wearing red shoes and standing in front of the door, her hair was pulled back and she was wearing the dress she wore for her last wedding anniversary party.
He smiled at me with a bright face like an angel.
When he was getting into the car, he said that I proudly told my friends that I am going out with my son tonight and they were very impressed.
We went to a restaurant that was not luxurious but very comfortable and cozy.
He held my hand as if he had found a treasure.
After we sat down, I read the restaurant menu.
While reading from above, I looked at my mother’s face and saw her looking at me with a smile indicating the recollection of past memories.
He told me that he remembers that when you were little and we used to go to a restaurant together, I was the one reading the restaurant menu and you were looking.
I replied that now it’s time for you to look and let me do it for you.
While having dinner, we had a sincere and sweet conversation, nothing unusual was exchanged between us, but the conversations were about current events and we talked so much that we missed the cinema.
When I brought him home, he said that he really wanted to go out with me again, on the condition that he would make me a guest next time, and I agreed.
When I got home, my wife asked me if I had a good dinner out with mom.
In response, I said much more than I could imagine.
A few days later my mother died of a massive heart attack without me being able to do anything.
Some time later, I received an envelope containing a copy of a receipt from the restaurant where my mother and I had eaten that night. A note was also attached to it: I don’t know if I will be there or not, but I have paid for 2 people, one for you and one for your wife. And you will never know how much that night meant to me, I love you so much my son.
And that’s when I realized how important it is to tell our loved ones that we love them and spend time with them.
Give your loved ones the time they deserve, because these matters can never be left to another time.
Today is always better than tomorrow and unknown tomorrows.
