My wife let me spend one night with another woman.
After years of being together, my wife asked me out with another woman for dinner and a movie. My wife said that she loves me, but she is sure that this woman also loves me and will enjoy going out with me!! Another woman that my wife asked me to go out with was my mother, who was widowed 19 years ago, but the busyness of life and having 3 children made me visit her only on random and irregular occasions! That night I called him to go out for a movie and dinner. My mother asked worriedly what happened? He was one of those people who saw a late night phone call or an unexpected invitation as a sign of bad news. I told him: I thought it would be great if we were together tonight. After a little thought, he said that he also enjoys this idea. I was nervous when I went to pick him up after work that Friday. When I arrived, I saw that he was also a little nervous! She had her coat on and was standing in front of the door, her hair pulled back and wearing the dress she had worn on her last wedding anniversary. He smiled at me with a bright face like an angel. When he was getting into the car, he said that he told his friends that he was going out with my son tonight and they were very impressed.
We went to a restaurant that was not luxurious but very comfortable and cozy. He held my hand as if he was the president’s wife. After we sat down, I read the restaurant menu. While reading from above, I looked at my mother’s face and saw that she was looking at me with a smile that reminded me of past memories. The mother said that she remembers when I was little and we used to go to the restaurant together and it was she who read the restaurant menu. In response, I said that now is the time for you to rest and let me do this favor for you. We had a hearty conversation while having dinner, nothing unusual was exchanged between us! We talked about current events and we talked so much that we missed the cinema… When I got him home he said he would go out with me again if he invited me and I accepted. When I got back home, my wife asked me if I had a good dinner with my mother. In response, I said much more than I could imagine.
A few days later my mother died of a massive heart attack and it all happened much faster than I could have done anything about. A little later, I received an envelope containing a copy of a receipt from the restaurant where my mother and I ate that night. A note was also attached to it: I don’t know if I will be there or not, but I have paid for 2 people, one for you and one for your wife. And you will never know what that night meant to me, I love you my son. It was then that I realized how important it is to tell our loved ones that we love them and to give them the time they deserve.
Nothing in life is more important than family.
Give your loved ones the time they deserve because these matters can never be left to another time!
