Monday’s note on the last page of Shargh
Ayatollah Tabrizian
That night, when heavy snow fell on the ground, near the morning, my daughter, after a heavy load of children, posted a sad photo of the hospital’s snowy yard and wrote, “I wish I hadn’t heard the heart-wrenching moan of the mother who we were at her child’s bedside until morning!” The wound that this wound inflicted on that mother’s soul and then on that daughter’s body robbed the father of sleep!
A little further, Ayatollah Tabrizian has written on his Mustab channel, which is rapidly gaining tens of thousands of viewers, that doctors are interfering in the work of medicine in a cruel and aggressive manner. The more they study, the more their ignorance increases and the more harm they do.
That is, my daughter is a humble assistant to ignorance. In the mornings, I teach the causes of ignorance, and worst of all, for this, we take exams and make commitments, we spread ignorance in the villages for years!
When I go to those sites in the morning, there is no news. No channel except the medical channels has shown any reaction in this regard. Ayatollah Tabrizian must be an honest and straightforward person who expresses his opinions like this so openly and without embellishment. His eminence is not a hypocrite. There are people in all countries with such opinions and they also preach, even more seriously than this!
What is surprising, however, is the silence and indifference that prevails outside the medical community in the face of such nonsense. It is not just the government and legal authorities who seem to think that these nonsense are related to the general beliefs and beliefs of the people, but instead of worrying about the emotions and feelings of thousands of young doctors in the cities and villages, they are worried about the frown of this young Ayatollah and his supporters, who have clearly lost or vacated their spiritual position amidst these burning midnight cries.
The intellectuals and artists, the same ones who set Baghdad on fire with a spark, seem to hear only a familiar tone in these words, freely leaving the responsibility of answering to both sides of the dispute!
But the greatest expectations are placed on scholars and clergy who, when referring to doctors, are placed in the ranks of the best and most rational patients or companions of the patient. They recognize the true place of spirituality and traditions in modern science and are destined to play an irreplaceable role in man’s conflict with fate and misfortune, even more so in the modern world than before!
Despite all these educated and right-thinking people, should only a gray-haired doctor, tired of work and education, suffering from midnight cries, take action in defense of students, youth, and children in the face of what has become a dish of untruth? Apparently, this is so because our national distrust of science shows itself most of all in medicine. If it weren’t for this disbelief, everyone wouldn’t sit here in silence, just as they take a stand against every nonsense. It wouldn’t be like this: tens of thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands of viewers, would eagerly read comments about the properties of fruits and non-drug treatments for diabetes, heart attacks, and epilepsy within an hour or two, which are presented with open arms on the same channel, and would pass by such content with indifference.
T. Lannister, one of the great sages of Westeros, has said:
A lot of nonsense continues to exist only because it has no serious opponents
