Nurse Call
The nurse call system includes a handle that is placed next to each patient’s bed, a touch display that is placed at the nursing station, the connection between all parts is two single-stranded wires, and it is designed with the RS485 protocol, so that from the station Nursing, two single-stranded wires are taken out and passed through all the rooms, and the device of each of the patient’s beds is connected to this wire in parallel.
Each of the handles next to the beds has 8 microswitches or more, which are addressed in this way, and the bed number and room number are determined.
This system has automatic troubleshooting so that the system test button is pressed through the device in the nursing station, the device can report the fault along with the location of the fault with programming algorithms.
The MRS nurse summoning system consists of four parts:
1. The handle next to the patient’s bed
2. Touch system inside the nursing station
3⃣ Notification light on the headboard
4⃣ Big screen to be installed in the department hall
Below we explain each part:
1⃣ #patient_bedside_handle:
Four buttons are placed on this handle, the big button is for summoning a nurse, by pressing this button, the requester’s bed number and room number will be displayed in the nursing station.
2⃣ #button to create a voice call with the nursing station:
By releasing this button, the patient can make a voice call to the nurse.
3⃣ #LED_night_light_button:
Behind the patient’s arm, 12 white LEDs are placed so that the patient can do his personal work at night without disturbing other patients and turning on the room light.
4⃣ #room_light_button:
By pressing this button, the patient can turn on and off the overhead light without moving.
#touch_system_inside_the_nursing_session:
All the notifications and calls and lighting control of the whole part of this system can be controlled.
To build this system, we have used RS485 protocol and all the rooms and beds are connected only through two single-stranded wires. All the categories are addressed by microchip (S1 in the map) so that the 5 upper keys of the patient’s bed are identified. and the bottom 4 keys specify the room number, thus 32 beds and 8 rooms can be set on this system and can be increased.
Therefore, in the programming part, each category of patient has a software address that contains the bed and room number inside this address, and the device in the nursing station identifies the patient’s room and bed with this address and communicates with it.
In all categories, we have used a temperature sensor that transmits the temperature of the rooms to the nursing unit and shows it on the device.
