Farugh Farkhzad was considered one of the pioneers of modern Persian poetry and, without exaggeration, a woman poet who broke the tradition in the contemporary period, who quickly attracted the attention of poetry and art lovers in the world. To the extent that many of his poems were translated into other languages in his youth. Forough’s works are among the most valuable poems in contemporary Iranian literature.
A literature that is indebted to great artists such as Forough, who have left a deep impact on its richness. During his short life, Forough Farrokhzad has created unique works that still attract the opinion of great critics of the world.
In Forough’s poems, the most important works of art express the poet’s concerns in a clear language. Evolution can be clearly seen in Forough’s poems. In the theme of his poems, love and life are not in a special and far-fetched sense, but in its social and everyday meaning; even in the saddest of them, love for life and its truths is surging.
The language of poetry, the tone of speech and the style of Forough are unique to him; Careless and open speaking and expression of romantic feelings in Forough’s poetry is unique because the singer is a woman. Forough was able to speak about his feelings in his poems with complete courage, the only independent and social poet who had an eloquent language and a passionate heart to express what was going on in his mind and head.
Forough Farrokhzad was also active in filmmaking, translation and acting and excelled. The film “The Black House” is a documentary about Baba Baghi’s leper house, which depicts the life of lepers, and in 1341, it won the best film award from the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival.
The turbulent and short but fruitful life of Forough Farrokhzad ended on the 24th of Bahman 1345 at 4:30 in the afternoon, on the Drus-Qolhak road due to a traffic accident. Kamiyar Shapour is the only child of Forough and the result of his marriage with Parviz Shapour, a contemporary humorist.
